27 JANUARY 2024
This weekend has been on my bucket list for some time now, a stay on the UK only luxury super yacht, and we are also in one of our favourite cities to visit, London.
Imagine staying in complete luxury aboard a glamorous super yacht, which is moored in a prime location in London, The Royal Victoria Dock.
Imagine a beautifully sculptured sleek exterior with polished decks, inside you will find gold hardware everywhere, a beautiful grand staircase, huge walls of glass, and cabins designed for complete comfort where you can relax and unwind and of course stunning views of the river and docklands, imagine watching the sun go down and the amazing skyline from your private balcony, as sip on your favourite tipple.
Imagine soft music playing as you take in the sumptuous décor, Imagine your enjoying impeccable fine dining in the 5* restaurant, imagine sipping on a perfectly chilled glass of wine, imagine devouring your perfectly cooked steak, imagine having the o2 arena as a backdrop as you are watching the twinkling lights of the dock skyline reflecting in the water of the Thames, offering views unattainable from anywhere else in the capital, just out of your perfect window seat.
This was not in our imagination, this was our reality, and it was the most incredible experience.

ALL ABOARD
We arrived around 10.00AM and were immediately greeted by beautiful grand sweeping staircase together with the incredible crystal chandelier, to the right is the reception desk and we were quickly greeted and made to feel very welcome.
We were shown to our cabin, unpacked, then we quickly made our way to elegant surroundings of the sundown Bar, they were open for proper drinks so we ordered a cheeky cocktail and a spiced rum.

CANARY WHARF
Its well over 20 years since I last visited Canary Wharf, at the time, there was not a lot to see or do, so I didn't stay long.
Now its vibrant and is a very cosmopolitan area for explore or relax.

SUNSET FROM OUR DECK
Watching the amazing transition from day to night from the luxury of our own private deck, drinks in hand, we marvelled at the views before us, as the sun went down, I started to capture some amazing shots as the light from the city skyline polluted the night sky.

DAY 2
We are up bright and early and are going to visit Greenwich and Leadenhall Market today, we are travelling on the London cable cars, which take us straight to Greenwich Peninsula from the Royal Docks.
There are only two things in life that truly terrify me, spiders and heights, and Amanda knows this, so I really didn't want to go on here, I tried my best to talk her out of it, but she was adamant she wanted to go on them, so I didn't want to be unreasonable and begrudgingly agreed.
Too be honest it didn't feel to bad at first and I was comfortable and calm, so I captured this image of the cable cars, all was going well, I was enjoying the views, laughing, loving it.
All this changed when we reached the highest part of the journey across, there was a slight gust of wind, nothing bad, but it rocked the car enough for me to comment to Amanda that I didn't like gust of wind.
Now what happened next, I didn't find funny, I still can't see the funny side, but the absolute lunatic that I live with, jumped up and started rocking the car from side to side, idiot, laughing her head off she was, I gave her the look, and she knew she had gone to far, I felt sick, I was sweeting profusely, it really wasn't that funny.

GREENWICH
Greenwich sits on the banks of the River Thames, it is known for its maritime history, it's the home of the Cutty Sark, which is a restored British clipper ship built in 1869 for the tea trade, it was designed for speed and efficient transport of Tea.
There is so much to see and do here we need another visit.

The Royal Observatory, home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian, is located within Greenwich Park at the top of the steep hill overlooking the Queen's House and the National Maritime Museum.

After the walk through the park and up the hill to the Royal Observatory, we were pretty worn out, so we headed back into Greenwich in search of a pub lunch, we found a brilliant little boozer called the Gipsy Moth and had a lovely dinner and a pint.

LEADENHALL MARKET
Leadenhall Markets roots date back to the 14th century, Roman occupied London, there has been some form of market here since then, the current structure is Victorian built and is filled with reminders of times gone by.
Leadenhall Market is beautiful, that has a unique buzz about it, it is also very photogenic, located in the heart of London, it is quite the hidden gem, boasting many bars, restaurants, shops and boutiques, perfect for shopping a pint and a bite to eat, the architecture is really stunning too.
Walk out of the back of Leadenhall Market and you will see the Leadenhall Building, a modern fusion of architecture and definitely an old meets new statement.
